About Wyatt/Wheeler/Brooks
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHETHER YOU HAVE ANY RELATIVES WHO ARE FAMOUS? IN DOING THE
RESEARCH FOR MY DAD: MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER "JACOB F.(JAKE) FISHER" OR "GRAND
PAP" OF DECATUR, TN, WAS A LARGE LAND OWNER WITH LOGGING CAMPS ALL OVER DECATURVILLE,
TN; DADS' GRANDFATHER WHOM HE LIVED WITH AS A YOUNG BOY & ADORED WAS "DR. LYCURCUS
GATES OF DECATURVILLE, TN"; AND HIS FATHER "JAMES FOSTER WYATT", A FARMER IN JAYWYE,
MO. FOR MY MOTHER: FANNIE BLACKWELL, MY GRANDMOTHER, WAS A FULL BLOODED CHEROKEE
INDIAN, MY GRANDFATHER, SILAS WHEELER A LARGE LAND OWNER, IN NEW MADRID CO., MO,;
LAURA INGALLS WILDER (LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRARIE), MOMS COUSIN; AND LAST BUT NOT
LEAST, RUTHERFOD BIRCHARD HAYES (PRESIDENT OF U.S., 1877-1881) HAS THE SAME
GRANDFATHER "JAMES BIRCHARD/BIRCHARD", AS MY MOTHER IDA WHEELER, ONLY A COUPLE
GENERATIONS APART. AS THE OLE SAYING GOES, "WE NEVER FIND OUT WHO WE ARE UNTIL WE
KNOW WHO CAME BEFORE".

I started the trace of my Family Tree in Mid-2006. I would like to thank all
those who helped the building of the site, especially Mary Davis (Memphis TN),
Bernice Sims, Clorine Hayes's research, Carlene Wheeler, Jake Fisher, Bill Jones
(Milan TN), Gloria Wyatt, Elsie Mansfield, Dean Miller; and Kim Taylor (TN) who
provided our only picture of Dr. L.C. Gates, "Dad's Grandfather", and many more.
Substantial information is listed regarding the Wyatt's, Gates', Fisher's, Ohmer's,
Wheeler's, Birchard's, Webb's, McClelland's, Hayes', Blackwell's, Brooks',
Pikey's, Sherrod's, Moser's, Fulbright's, Poole's, Yarbro's, Portwood families and
numerous more. It is all about sharing with one another, the wonderful
stories/pictures that never to be again lost. The following is many hours of
research, with many more to come. This web site is in honor of my father "James Allen
(Major) Wyatt and mother "Ida (Wheeler) Wyatt". If you have any photo's/stories you
wish to be put on the web site, or notice any descrepancies, please email with a
brief description. ALSO, "THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO LEAVE MESSAGES IN MY GUEST BOOK".

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthday and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
